For riders from the US & Canada

Riding Mallorca from the US & Canada

You've done the Backroads week. You've ridden Solvang, Tucson, maybe Girona. Mallorca is the next one on the list, and you want it done right: a local who knows every road, a group of four to six, not sixteen, and a week you come home from riding better than you left. That's what we do. Based in Palma, TEMPO runs private guided rides, moto and van support, and multi-brand road bike rental delivered to wherever you're staying.

Getting here

  • Nonstop from the US: United flies Newark (EWR) to Palma (PMI). In 2026 the route runs four times a week in season; from 2027 it starts March 28 and goes daily from late May. From the West Coast, connect through Newark or a European hub (Madrid, Lisbon, Zurich, Frankfurt).
  • Nonstop from Canada: Air Canada flies Montreal (YUL) to Palma from mid-June to late October, three times a week. From Toronto or Vancouver, connect in Montreal or through Europe.
  • Airport pickup: we meet you at Palma airport. For groups it's usually part of the week; for individuals, tell us your flight and we'll arrange it. The airport is 15 minutes from the city.
  • Jet lag: you land six hours ahead of the East Coast. We plan your first ride as an easy 25–40 mi (40–60 km) along the coast, not Sa Calobra.

Your bike or ours

Most riders coming for four days or more bring their own saddle, pedals and shoes and rent the bike. Flying a bike case costs $150–300 each way and you still need a car big enough for it. We deliver a road bike to your hotel or villa and pick it up when you leave.

  • Brands in the fleet: Specialized, Canyon, Trek, Giant, Liv, Bianchi, Wilier, Ridley and Scott — the model you ride at home, or the one you've wanted to try.
  • Included with every bike: helmet, pedals (tell us which system you ride, or bring your own), repair kit, pump, tire levers, Allen keys and bottle cages. Bike fit on request.
  • Minimum rental is two days. Delivery and collection in Palma and Sóller is free; the north of the island (Pollença, Alcúdia) is €90 per booking, the rest of the island €100.
  • Damage protection is €15 per bike for the whole rental.
  • Bringing your own bike? We'll still meet you with a track pump and a mechanic's eye before day one.

Where to base yourself

Americans usually ask about Port de Pollença. It's the classic cycling hub and it works. We ride from Palma and the center of the island too, and there's a reason: the roads south and west of the Tramuntana are quieter in April and October, the old town is better for the evenings, and every classic climb — Sa Calobra, Coll de Sóller, Puig Major, Cap de Formentor — is within a day's ride or a short shuttle. Tell us where you're staying and we build the week around it.

What a week with us looks like

Private guiding means your group, your pace, your route. Konrad rides with you, not ahead of you. Along the way you learn what nobody taught you on a Saturday club ride: how to brake into a corner, how to descend Sa Calobra without burning your hands, how to hold a wheel on the flat. Riders tell us they go home faster downhill and, for the first time, feel safe doing it.

  • Day rides from €190 per person. The Private Guided Day (your route or Sa Calobra, Formentor, the coast — with coaching, up to 5 hours) is priced per rider by group size, without the bike so you can add the one you want; signature routes (Coastal, Cap de Formentor, Sa Calobra, the full Mallorca 312) include a premium road bike. Full details and booking on Private guiding.
  • Moto support for riders training seriously: a motorbike with spare wheels, bottles, food and a mechanic, so you can ride like it's race day.
  • Van support by the hour for groups who want luggage moved, a shuttle over the mountains, or a bail-out option.
  • Coaching packages (technique sessions, video review) from €179 — see Coaching.

Riding with your club?

Some of our best weeks have been with clubs and groups of friends from Texas, Colorado and beyond. One organizer, a handful of riders, and a week that gets talked about at every Saturday ride back home. If you're the one who brings the group together, we make it easy for you, and worth your while.

  • The full package

Private guide, van support all day, premium road bikes for everyone and airport transfers, planned as one week.

  • Special group rates

Clubs, teams and groups of friends get a dedicated quote for the whole week.

  • Perks for the organizer

You bring the riders, we look after you. Ask us what we offer the person who puts the trip together.

  • Club partnerships

Coming back every year? We set up a long-term partnership with your club, with priority dates and the same team.

Booking and paying from abroad

  • Currency: prices are in euros; your card does the conversion. We take Visa, Mastercard and American Express through Stripe, plus bank transfer. No PayPal.
  • Deposit is 30% at booking. For bike rental the balance is paid when we hand over the bike; for guided rides and support, before the ride.
  • Cancellation: full refund up to 7 days before; between 7 and 3 days we keep the deposit; under 3 days no refund. If something goes wrong on your side, write to us — we're people, not a policy.
  • Insurance: travel insurance with bike cover is your responsibility; most US and Canadian policies cover road cycling, racing usually not.
